To start, we hope you are healthy and safe. We hope you are following CDC guidelines and any applicable state and local requirements so that you are part of the solution to this terrible pandemic. We are all in this together.
The team at #GiveHealthy has gone on high alert. We know that the number of people needing help from food banks and food pantries has grown dramatically these past few weeks and will continue to do so. We also know that many food banks and food pantries are contending with fewer volunteers and more work due to CDC guidelines as well as state and local “shelter in place” and social distancing measures.
We also know that there are so many traditional food drives that take place each spring that won’t happen this year.
We’re already fast at work with a number of our food bank and food pantry partners, setting up #GiveHealthy drives so that these organizations don’t lose the support of the groups that were planning to help them with spring food drives.
While we are saddened by the depth of the disruption and stress the pandemic is causing, we’re so glad that we have a way to help.
