Each year, fall starts with Hunger Action Month (September), continues with World Food Day (October – 10/16/20) and wraps up with the peak months for food drives (November and December) and the Holidays. Here in the US – food insecurity is at all time high and food banks and pantries need help! It’s time for everyone to be a #foodhero!
Speaking of food heroes….The LEFTY Youth Group of Temple Isaiah (Boston, MA) has organized an annual Yom Kippur Drive for the past 30 years, typically raising 3000 to 4000 lbs. Due to COVID19, they could run their traditional food drive and turned to us for help. So far, their #GiveHealthy drive has raised over 13,000 lbs. – with donations from over 300 food heroes! That’s a big time WOW and great support of the Greater Boston Area Food Bank. You can check the drive out here.
There’s plenty of time for any of us to be food heroes and especially food drive heroes this upcoming giving season. Contact our #GiveHealthy team to find out how to get going
